Bio

Amanda Tavarez has been involved with theater since she was in middle school at Southwood Middle in Miami Fl. She continued her love in the arts in high school when she auditioned for the magnet school Coral Reef Senior High in Miami Fl. She was seen on stage in the ensemble for Ragtime, Kiss Me Kate, and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.  She also had roles like Mrs. Martin in The Bald Soprano, and Princess Ninetta in For the Love of Three Oranges.  

After graduating from Coral Reef Senior High, she was accepted into the BFA Acting program at the University of Central Florida in 2012. While being at UCF her roles included Hermia in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Evalina in Spunk and The Harlem Literatti, Gwendolen in The Importance of Being Earnest, and Lady Macbeth in Macbeth. She graduated in 2016 with her BFA in Acting.

After college she moved to Miami FL, where she played the titular character in An Octoroon with Area Stage Company. She currently still resides in Miami Fl, where she is now pursuing a career in Film/TV. This year she was a part of the pilot episode in a new series, The Grand Hotel, that will premiere this coming February on ABC. More recently, she got to be a part of a new show, David Makes Man, coming to OWN in the beginning of 2019. She is currently wrapping as one of the leads on a new indie series titled Cake: The Series set to be released in 2019.
